Welcome to an enchanting event that captured the imagination of both young and old alike! In celebration of the highly anticipated Little Mermaid Launch, our CrestAquarium transformed into a mesmerizing underwater kingdom, brought to life by the presence of real mermaids gracefully diving among the marine life. With over 2000 people in attendance, the atmosphere was brimming with excitement and wonder.
The event was a true delight for the little ones. Kids had the opportunity to become mermaids themselves, thanks to the captivating Mermaid Face Painting station. There was an Under The Sea photobooth as well as sand art workshops that allowed children to unleash their creativity. One of the highlights was the chance to meet and take photos with the mermaids, creating cherished moments to treasure.
Edgars, renowned makeup artists, were present to create stunning mermaid-inspired makeup looks for our adult visitors, allowing them to embrace their inner enchantress.

SANTA LIVE FROM NORTHPOLE (Cresta Facebook Page) | 14 – 23 December 2020
As you may know with the current COVID-19 Compliant restrictions of being 1,5m apart from the next person, it presents a challenge in hosting a physical “traditional” Photos with Santa experience.
Therefore, we have decided to go digital by creating an experience for our shoppers each day at 18h00 from the 14 to 23 December; Santa will be streaming story-time live from the North Pole. Shoppers and their children will have the opportunity to tune in and listen to Santa’s story time and interact with him.
Cresta has partnered with local NPO Growing Champions, who are dedicated to uplifting Youth in the surrounding Cresta Community. They provide an all-inclusive support structure to Youth from troubled backgrounds, offering a Hand-Up, in an effort to help them realize their full potential.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to donate Stationery Packs (as per their wish list) to assist the kids with Back to School necessities. Pop through to the donation stand on the Lower Level Barnyard Court to help pay it forward this Festive Season.

“The Magic of Christmas Show” | Thursday, 24 December
We will be hosting a Santa’s Craft Corner where children can spend the day doing Christmas Themed Arts & Crafts activities and enjoy a show featuring Santa and his Elves which will be keeping in line with COVID-19 Compliant restrictions. Children will have the opportunity to chat to Santa, from a safe distance, and possibly convince him to take a quick photo if they have been nice this year

Cresta is bringing visitors vibrant unique entertainment this season with performances by The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO) who will deliver a series of the Festive Symphony Season, consisting of the best international and local soloists and conductors.
JPO is known to challenge the prevailing perception of classical music performances being elitist and Euro-centric. Visitors can expect a festive sound that incorporates the greatest examples of both classic and South African styles on Saturday, the 14th of December. Separate performances will take place around the centre in the MTN Court, Aquarium Court, Lower Food Court and FNB Court, with a finale performance in the Upper-Level Food Court from 10h00 – 14h00.
Amakhonto We Sintu Choir: 21 Dec 2019
The talented Amakhonto We Sintu choir will deliver performances on Saturday, 21st of December starting at 11h00 – 13h00 by the FNB Court, Aquarium Court and Upper Food Court. The group consists of 7 vibrant artists, most of them emerging from renowned productions such as Umoja the Spirit of Togetherness, The Lion King (France) and Drum Struck NY. The choir has shared professional stages with legends such as the late Hugh Masekela and international artists like Ishmael Lo and Dianne Reeves. Their performances are best known for giving audiences goose bump moments.

The bells are ringing which means Santa is on his way to Cresta to hear all your kids’ Festive wishes. Bring the little ones to the Lower Level FNB Court to pose for pictures and create unforgettable memories from R30 during 14 – 24 Dec from11h00 – 18h00.

Moreover, shoppers can also donate preloved or new educational materials and toys such as building toys and picture books to stimulate learning and development.
Stories for children will be read to those looking for a moment to pause and relax in between shopping – at 09:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00.

Adventure time awaits your kids this weekend at Cresta. We’re creating a fun-filled wonderland to celebrate the screening of the Wonder Park movie.
Stop by the Upper Level Food Entertainment Court for a day of awesome experiences at our mini carnival, including a meet and greet with Boomer from the movie! There’ll be plenty to keep the little ones entertained; Magic Mirrors, Buzz Wire challenges and more exciting games. To top it all off, we’re serving popcorn and candy floss for the perfect carnival experience and will be giving away spot prizes.

During the Festive Campaign, kids get to have fun at the Cresta Powerpuff Girls and Imagination Studios activation. They can create their very own look-alike Powerpuff Girls character, and learn how to draw cartoon characters with Imagination Studios. That’s not all, during both weekends of the campaign kids get to meet their favourite Cartoon Network characters: Jake & Fin from Adventure Time, and Darwin & Gumball from The Amazing World of Gumball.

The educational goals are achieved by using LEGO® and K’nex® assembly kits uniquely designed by their trained staff, demonstrating scientific principles in a fun and accessible fashion; combining experiments that form scientific intuition with stories that capture the imagination.
