ALL I WANT FROM CRESTA THIS CHRISTMAS

Cresta’s Christmas campaign kicked off on 9th December with a spectacular Santa’s Arrival and Carols by Candle light hosted by the Top 3 SA idols Dave, Mark and Crushanda. Not only were Cresta shoppers treated to some of their favourite Christmas carols sung by the 3 Idols and Memeza Choir from Soweto, but they also enjoyed an exciting variety of family entertainment such as kiddies rides, face painting, mimes, and treats from Simba the Lion.

From Saturday 10 until 24 December, the centre was packed with fun activities for both young and old from one end to the other. A variety of artists filled the centre’s halls with the wonderful sound of Christmas music, among them favourites like Buchanan and his three tenors, Elfreda the Harpist, Candis with her angelic voice. “Ben 10” and friends from Cartoon Network offered hours of action-packed fun at the Barnyard Court for the little ones. The Kiddies Play area in Woolworths Court ensured children were truly spoilt for choice; from Christmas themed creative crafts, puppet shows and other cool activities and special treats to enjoy while mom and dad were shopping. Our Christmas programme wouldn’t have been complete without a picture with everyone’s favourite man in red and white, Santa at the Banking Court.

Christmas Campaign Winners

Cresta Management is delighted to congratulate Mrs. Maureen Holroyd who was the lucky winner of R10 000 in Cresta’s Spend and Win Competition. Shoppers needed to spend a minimum of R500 or more at any of our stores during the festive season to stand a chance of winning weekly Cresta vouchers worth R2500 or the grand prize of R10 000 that was drawn on the 23rd of December 2011 .

"How do I look" Make-Over Competition Winner

Congratulations to our luck winner Angie Elsi who won herself a fabulous Cresta makeover worth R15 000. This included an image consultation with Janine Carley James, a wardrobe stylist, who assisted Angie in buying the correct clothing for her body shape, from Cresta’s many fabulous fashion stores. Angie was also treated to a wonderful hair make-over by Carlton Hair, Make - up by Estee Lauder and a manicure from Dream Nails.
To enter, shoppers nominated themselves or a friend who was stuck in a style rut for the make-over by sending a picture.

Bulelwa Baliwe and Paseka Thekiso were our runners up, winning prizes worth over R5000 each. A big thank you to the following Cresta tenants who sponsored prizes for the competition:

World Cup: 94.7 Highveld Stereo - Show your Soccer Soul with Kia

94.7 Highveld Stereo and Kia Motors entertained listeners and shoppers in search of the who's got the most "Kia soccer soul" competition in May 2010.

People arrived in all sorts dress code and imagination from building a massive vuvuzela, performing soccer ball tricks, blowing vuvuzlea tunes, sing with their band, dancing, do the Diski Dance, make a wire KIA SOUL car, sing the National Athem or hear a poem and prayer written to Bafana Bafana. Even Zakumis wife was here to add to the days soul experience.

94.7 listeners flocked to Cresta to partake in this world cup activation.

MTN Go Rig

The MTN Gig Rig tour to various malls nationwide was activated at Cresta on 27 March. It is a platform to attract and create hype around the MTN brand. MTN's state-of-the-art mobile gig rig is aimed at encouraging fan interaction and support for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa^TM. K'yoze kuyovalwa is a comprehensive entertainment platform and is equipped with industry leading technology aimed at delivering a complete interactive fan experience where competitions were run continuously and prizes won throughout the day.

Fly the Flag: 100 Days to Kick off - Tenant Winners

Cresta Centre and its tenants celebrated Fly the Flag in celebration of 100 days to kick off for the world cup on 2 March 2010. Tenants competed to see which shop could show true Ayobaness. Cresta gift vouchers to the value of R1000 each were awarded to the best 3 shops.

Christmas Windowland 2009 - All Dressed Up

How amazing was this Friday evening, 27 November 2009?! Did you ever, in your wildest dreams, anticipate the turnout and support we enjoyed during the Christmas Windowland promotion staged between 18h00 to 21h00.

Our Centre was packed to capacity like never before which verifies that we may eventually have found the ‘formula' to replace the popularity of our bygone fireworks displays. From corner to corner, shoppers clambered to window fronts, absorbing the magic created by the bold, the beautiful and the simply outrageous! Our hearts burst with pride as this experience went way beyond simply creating a promotion aimed at boosting coffers. Although it's always ‘all about the money', the vibe and joy experienced during this 3 hour period remains priceless. It appeared as if for the 3 hour period, worries and troubles took a back seat. We gave shoppers (and each other!) a reason and an opportunity to experience something extraordinary that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Christmas Windowland Tenant Winners

From corner to corner, shoppers clambered to window fronts, absorbing the magic created by the bold, the beautiful and the simply outrageous! Our hearts burst with pride as this experience went way beyond simply creating a promotion aimed at boosting coffers. Although it’s always ‘all about the money’, the vibe and joy experienced during this 3 hour period remains priceless. It appeared as if for the 3 hour period, worries and troubles took a back seat. We gave shoppers (and each other!) a reason and an opportunity to experience something extraordinary that will be remembered for a long time to come.

The idea was to afford the whole family an unrivaled, fantastical opportunity to witness and experience the transformation of a retail destination to a dream destination. A breath of fresh movement, colour and splendor replaced static window displays – like photographs coming to life.

Tenats were encourgared to create a live window display by adding a “touch of the unusual” via a humaized display with a twist of Christmas complimentary to the merchandise in their store. Creativity was paramount. The results were as follows:

Parlotones perform at Cresta Centre

28 November 2009

Parlotones. along with their Sony Ericsson promotion held a mini acoustic performance at Cresta Centre Banking Court amongst the Christmas setting of ‘Candyland’. They rocked the audience at 9am for 30 minutes before doing a signing session at Vodacom 4U and MTN Cosmonet. Fans lined up waiting for their favourite rock stars to autograph their memorabilia. The band didn’t leave until everyone got their turn!

Cancer Jail and Bail: Cobus Grobelaar, Captain of the Lions rugby team raises money for Cancer

Date: 28 November 2009

It was jail for Cobus Grobelaar, who generously offered his time to help volunteers raise money for Cresta. A mid-morning buzz of excitement and crowds of generous shoppers were donating money to 'bail' Cobus out of jail, purchase CANSA goodies and take raffle tickets for a Lions rugby jersey signed by the entire Super 14 team. Some of Cobus' teammates arrived to add their support and help make the day the success that it was.

Cresta Shopper Competition – Winners Announced

Saturday 12th September saw an exciting morning for 36 prize winners – all drawn from entries in the Shopper Competition hosted by Cresta Shopping. Each member, of the excited group gathered in the Spur Court of the centre, was given a chance to draw an envelope containing a gift card. 33 of the envelopes contained gift cards to the value of R3 000 and the other three, gift cards to the whopping value of R33 000.

Winners of the 3 gift cards to the value of R33 000 each, were Arleen van Rooyen of Randburg, Nondumsa Khumalo of Windsor and Kim Anne Stevens of Black Heath.

The competition was hosted in celebration of Cresta Shopping Centre's 33rd Birthday; and ran in the months of June, July and August.

Shoppers could enter by depositing their till slips, for any amount of R3 or more, into the entry stations at the centre's entrances, after writing their names and contact details on the backs of the slips. After the close of the competition on Monday 31st August, an audited draw was conducted and the winners notified telephonically.
